Antonio Filosa, born in Naples, has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of Stellantis, effective June 23, 2025. His appointment marks a key moment for the global automotive group formed by the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group. After an extensive international search, the Board of Directors and Executive Chairman John Elkann unanimously selected an internal leader with 25 years of experience and deep institutional knowledge to guide the company forward.
Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer for the Americas and Chief Quality Officer, Filosa played a vital role in strengthening Stellantis’ operations in Latin America, bringing FIAT to market leadership and launching Jeep® in Brazil through the development of the Pernambuco plant—now one of the largest automotive hubs in South America. His efforts also propelled Jeep’s global expansion, with the Jeep Avenger becoming one of the best-selling models in Europe.
Appointed COO for North America in December 2024, Filosa immediately launched a strategic reorganization, reducing dealer inventories, revitalizing the leadership team, introducing new products and powertrains, and enhancing relationships with dealers, unions, and suppliers. His effective and agile leadership has been widely recognized.
John Elkann described Filosa as “perfectly prepared for the role of CEO,” while Robert Peugeot called him “the natural choice,” emphasizing his deep understanding of the company and the industry’s complexities. Bpifrance CEO Nicolas Dufourcq added that Filosa is the right person to lead Stellantis during a global transformation in the automotive world.
A graduate in engineering from the Politecnico di Milano with an executive MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral in Brazil, Antonio Filosa currently resides in Michigan, USA. His career combines strong Italian roots with an international vision. On June 23, alongside officially taking over as CEO, he will present Stellantis’ new executive leadership team.
