At GreenMed 2025, the future of the energy transition speaks Italian—and its name is MIRI. With over fifty years of industrial heritage rooted in Naples, MIRI Group presents itself as a key player in sustainable innovation. The group brings to the expo a clear mission: delivering real, scalable and efficient solutions to drive energy savings and accelerate decarbonization. At the center of this vision is Dethermina, a company launched in 2023 as part of the group, focused on the development of high-performance heat pumps powered by natural refrigerants like propane (R290), a sustainable alternative to HFCs.
According to Giovanni Paone, MIRI’s president, GreenMed is “the perfect platform to share the industrial journey of Dethermina, a company we built from scratch, with a strong team, a European network and a clean vision.” Today, the company operates a high-efficiency production plant and has already made its mark with its flagship model, the A-THERM80—a heat pump capable of producing hot water up to 80°C, even in outdoor temperatures as low as -20°C. This makes it an ideal solution for residential complexes, hospitals, schools and hotels.
The international journey of Dethermina started with a debut at MCE 2024 in Milan, where it was awarded the Excellence Award by Politecnico di Milano, followed by exhibitions at KVP Stockholm and Heat Pump Summit Milan 2025. Its first international installation is already operational at the Mukross House in Ireland. The next milestone is Elemental London 2025, where Dethermina will launch its new W-THERM120 line—designed to produce water or steam up to 120°C for industrial applications like food sterilization and pharmaceutical drying. The new A-COMBO80 range, which simultaneously provides hot and cold water, adds further flexibility for large-scale installations.
This innovation is not only technical but also strategic. Dethermina’s propane-based systems offer a tangible solution to the 2030 Agenda’s decarbonization targets, especially in replacing outdated boilers with high-efficiency heat pumps. This transition is already underway with significant contracts secured by MIRI, including the construction of a new thermal plant for Atitech, Europe’s leading aerospace maintenance company, and a 3 MW energy upgrade for CAP Holding, the main water utility for the Milan area.
MIRI Group is also looking beyond national borders, competing to supply the heating system for the London Underground, a prestigious project that would cement its role among Europe’s top HVAC&R players. A major strength of the group lies in its vertical integration: AIRCODUE, another MIRI startup, is pioneering CO₂-based air conditioners (R744), meeting post-HFC EU standards and enhancing the group’s offering for smart buildings.

The partnership with MIRI has empowered Dethermina to scale up rapidly, leveraging an industrial ecosystem built on expertise, agility, and sustainable values.
As of July 1, 2024, Gianluigi Mazzarella has taken over as Commercial Director, with a mandate to expand the sales network and open new markets across Europe and the Middle East.
