On May 29, 2025, Naples becomes the heart of innovation with the tenth edition of Innovation Village, hosted at the stunning Villa Doria d’Angri. This landmark event brings together institutions, research centers, universities, startups, and companies to foster sustainable development and technological advancement in Southern Italy.
A highlight of the event is the session organized by the Campania Aerospace District (DAC) titled “🚀 Space Manufacturing: producing in space to innovate on Earth”, held from 9:30 to 11:30 AM in the Aula Posillipo. The session delves into the challenges and opportunities of manufacturing in microgravity, the use of extraterrestrial resources, and disruptive technologies for space and terrestrial applications.
Luigi Carrino, President of the DAC, will moderate the session, featuring prominent speakers such as Paolo Netti (Director of IIT@CRIB), Norberto Salza (President of Space Factory), Antonio Viscusi (University of Naples Federico II), Colonel Aniello Violetti (Space Attaché at the Embassy of Italy in Washington), and Claudia Esposito (Science and Innovation Directorate, Italian Space Agency).
This event showcases how space-based manufacturing, including 3D printing in orbit and advanced material synthesis, can inspire sustainable innovations on Earth. It reflects the growing importance of the space economy as a driver of research, industry, and international cooperation.
Innovation Village 2025 also features over 119 innovative companies, 33 exhibitors, and 26 institutional partners. Key collaborators include Huawei, ENEA, S.I. Impresa, CNR, the University of Naples Parthenope, University of Salerno, Federico II, Region of Campania, and the Order of Engineers of Naples.
From AI and cybersecurity to cloud computing and digital transformation, the event fosters cross-sectoral dialogue and hands-on demonstrations in a vibrant exhibition space and through the Business and Research Speed Dates.
